Breaking Bad Review: Season Five, Episode Eight - Gliding Over All

By Geddy Cahoon

Hello everybody, Geddy Cahoon here with the final NWC Breaking Bad Review (Ramble?) of 2012. Last night's episode? Gliding Over All.

It was an episode that was simultaneously slow moving and very tense, ending with a cliffhanger that we all should have seen coming but was in no way less flooring due to that fact.

Breaking Bad Review - Season Five, Episode Seven: Say My Name

By Geddy Cahoon

Well everybody, I'm currently holding back tears over my keyboard. Vince Gilligan has done it - At this point I pretty much hate Walter White.

There isn't much else to say here. Let's dive right into my review of the most recent, heartbreaking episode of Breaking Bad - Say My Name.

NOTE: I'm going to try not to inject too much humor into this. My previous reviews have had a somewhat humorous air about them at times, but it doesn't feel right to do that with this episode.

Breaking Bad Review - Season Five, Episode Six: Buyout

By Geddy Cahoon

Hey everybody, Geddy Cahoon here once again to prattle on for an obscene length of time about the most recent episode of AMC's drug drama Breaking Bad.

Today I'll be looking at season five, episode six - Buyout. It was what I like to call a "stepping stone" episode - It basically consisted of characters talking. There were no big scenes or fantastic set pieces. An episode like this exists pretty much to set up a new storyline. Breaking Bad often has multiple episodes similar to this per season. It's a show that paces itself.

However, this classification is by no means a bad thing. Buyout ended up being a really fantastic episode, featuring some haunting, effective, and meaningful scenes as well as furthering Vince Gilligan's quest to make the viewer loathe Walter White.

Breaking Bad Review - Season Five, Episode Five: Dead Freight

By Geddy Cahoon

Wow. That's all I have to say coming off of last night's episode of Breaking Bad, Dead Freight. Going into it, I didn't know what to think because the previews indicated that it would primarily involve the three main guys robbing a train. Any part of me that was worried was countered with a part of me that reassured myself, "If any show can do this right, it's BB."

What we ended up getting was a fairly decent episode, with it's share of great scenes, a handful of flaws, and an amazing final fifteen minutes, ending with one of the most surprising and sickening things I've ever seen on any television show, ever.

Breaking Bad Review: Season 5, Episode 4 - "Fifty One"

By Geddy Cahoon

Hey everybody, Geddy Cahoon here with the first installment of what I hope will be a weekly feature here on Nerd World Country - A review of this week's episode of Breaking Bad. It's no secret that we love Breaking Bad here at NWC. It's a fantastic series, arguably the greatest ever, and it's something pretty much everyone should be watching. We discussed it in the first podcast, and I've been tossing around the idea of reviewing episodes on a weekly basis for a while now. I've finally decided to pull the trigger on after viewing last night's episode, Fifty One. It might seem a little dumb to start reviewing halfway through the season, but whatever. Sue me.

*NOTE: This review is obviously spoiler-heavy, and is of course written with the assumption that the reader is familiar with BB's characters, plot threads, and etc.
